WONDERLAND CROSS-BOUNDARY
WILDFIRE MITIGATION PROJECT

Hello! We are in the midst of updating this webpage to reflect the most recent updates to this project. Please check again in a few days to learn the latest!

Over the next three years, the City of Boulder and the Boulder Watershed Collective will work with HOAs and residents in the Wonderland Hills area to implement wildfire risk-reduction measures on public and private lands. Funding comes from the Boulder County Strategic Fuels Mitigation Grant and the City of Boulder Climate Mitigation Tax.

Project methods include:

  • Hardening homes and removing hazardous vegetation on private properties (for residents who choose to participate)

  • Mowing and cattle grazing for vegetation management on City of Boulder lands (OSMP and Parks & Recreation)

  • Supporting community organizing for long-term fire adaptation

This cross-boundary effort reduces risk across property lines—because wildfire doesn’t stop at ownership boundaries.
